The Full-Time Hifz Programme is a structured and disciplined pathway for students who aspire to memorise the Qur’an within a focused Islamic environment. Designed for boys aged 11 and above, the programme combines rigorous memorisation targets with strong supervision, refined Tajweed, and continuous revision. Alongside academic progress, equal emphasis is placed on Adab, punctuality, and spiritual development, ensuring students grow in both memorisation and character.
Darul Uloom Newcastle operates as a supplementary educational institute and not a full-time secular school. This programme runs during afternoon and evening hours and can accommodate home-educated children.
The Hifz Course follows a structured daily routine that balances new memorisation (sabaq), recent revision, and long-term consolidation to ensure retention remains strong and secure. Students are given personalised memorisation targets based on their pace, ability, and consistency.
Alongside memorisation, students receive foundational instruction in Fiqh and Aqeedah to ensure their Islamic understanding develops in parallel with their relationship with the Qur’an. This integrated approach helps cultivate both knowledge and character, rather than memorisation in isolation.
Students who require improvement in fluency or Tajweed are enrolled into a dedicated Foundation Year, where reading accuracy, articulation, and confidence are strengthened before full memorisation begins.
Days: Monday – Friday (Term Time)
Time: 3:15pm – 7:30pm
Duration varies depending on individual pace, consistency, and retention ability. Progression is carefully monitored to ensure memorisation remains strong and secure.
Applicants must be aged 11 or above. Students should be able to read the Qur’an fluently with reasonable Tajweed; those requiring improvement will be placed in the Foundation Year. Admission may include a recitation assessment and meeting to determine readiness and suitability.
Students are expected to demonstrate commitment to full attendance, respectful conduct, and willingness to observe Islamic Adab.
Students are assessed daily through lesson listening and revision testing. Formal periodic assessments evaluate retention strength and fluency. Advancement is based on consistency, discipline, and secure memorisation rather than speed alone.
Upon successful completion of the memorisation of the entire Qur’an and satisfactory final review, students are awarded an formal certificate, certifying completion under qualified supervision.
The programme operates within a disciplined yet nurturing Islamic environment. Small class sizes allow for individual monitoring and personalised support. Teachers provide both academic supervision and mentorship, ensuring students develop sincerity, patience, and strong Islamic character alongside memorisation.
