About Us
About Us
Darul Uloom Newcastle Upon Tyne was established in 2025 by Mufti Muhammad Abdulmuheet Sahib, under the umbrella of Bahr Charity. It emerged from the success of Bahr Academy, with a vision to expand beyond girls' education and serve the wider community of Newcastle and beyond.
The Darul Uloom offers a variety of educational programs, including:
- Fulltime Alimiyyah Course (Islamic scholarship) (16+ and 11+)
- Hifz Course (Qur'an memorisation) (16+ and 11+)
- Diploma in Islamic Studies Course (Sanatayn)
Courses are open to individuals aged 8 to adulthood, and are available full-time, part-time, and in the evenings to suit diverse needs. In addition to supplementary and religious education, we also provide:
- Islamic guidance & counselling
- Marriage guidance
- Dawah projects
- Community support services
What sets Darul Uloom Newcastle apart is that it is the first institute of its kind in the region—offering full-time traditional Islamic courses. Darul Uloom is not a full-time school rather it serves as a supplementary school.
Located in the heart of the West End of Newcastle Upon Tyne, the institute is led by Mufti Muhammad Abdulmuheet alongside a team of honourable and dedicated local scholars.
Together, we aim to revive hearts, uplift souls, and educate minds for a brighter, spiritually enriched future.
Our mission is simple yet profound: to reconnect the community with the timeless teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah, nurturing spiritual growth through knowledge and practice.
We envision Darul Uloom Newcastle evolving into a central spiritual hub — a place of tranquillity, learning, and unity in the heart of our multicultural society.
