The Full-Time Alimiyyah Programme is an eight-year structured pathway in traditional Islamic scholarship, designed to cultivate future scholars from an early age. Rooted in the classical Dars-e-Nizami curriculum and carefully adapted for younger students, the programme develops strong foundations in Arabic, Islamic sciences, and character formation. Alongside rigorous academic study, emphasis is placed on tarbiyah, discipline, and spiritual growth, ensuring students mature intellectually and morally throughout their journey.
Darul Uloom Newcastle operates as a supplementary educational institute and not a full-time secular school. This programme runs in the afternoons and evenings, and tailored pathways are available for home-schooled students.
The eight-year curriculum gradually transitions students from foundational language acquisition to advanced Hadith studies. In the early years, students focus on Arabic grammar and vocabulary, Urdu language development, Qur’an recitation, Tajweed, Seerah, and foundational Fiqh and Aqeedah. Urdu is introduced to enable students to access key Islamic texts historically authored in the language.
As students progress, they formally study Sarf and Nahw, engage with classical Arabic texts, and begin structured study of Usul al-Fiqh. Intermediate and advanced years introduce Tafseer, Usul al-Hadith, detailed Aqeedah studies, and higher-level Fiqh including applied jurisprudence and inheritance laws.
The final year culminates in full-time study of the Sihah Sittah, completing the traditional cycle of Hadith scholarship.
The curriculum is subject to refinement to ensure academic rigour and age suitability.
Duration: 8 Years
Days: Monday – Friday (Term Time)
Time: 3:15pm – 7:30pm
The programme is structured to run alongside home education commitments.
Applicants must be a minimum of 11 years old. Students should possess basic Islamic knowledge and demonstrate readiness for structured study. Admission may involve an assessment in Qur’an recitation and a meeting to determine suitability and commitment to the full programme.
A strong work ethic, good conduct, and parental support are essential for long-term success.
Students are assessed consistently throughout the programme through written examinations, oral assessments, lesson recitation, memorisation reviews, and teacher evaluation. Progression from one year to the next is dependent upon satisfactory academic performance, attendance, and conduct.
Upon successful completion of the full eight-year cycle — including the formal study of the Sihah Sittah in the final year — students are awarded an Ijazah in Hadith, granted by their teachers through established scholarly chains of transmission (sanad). This marks the completion of the traditional Dars-e-Nizami curriculum and signifies readiness for advanced study, teaching, da‘wah, or community leadership.
All assessments and certification are conducted internally under the supervision of qualified scholars in accordance with traditional Islamic academic standards.
Beyond academics, the programme places strong emphasis on character formation, respect for teachers, discipline, and sincerity in seeking knowledge. Classes are delivered by qualified and experienced scholars who provide mentorship throughout the student’s journey.
Small class settings ensure individual attention and consistent monitoring of progress.
